We took Lakota (our paint) to the vet today. She got cut when she was loaded into a trailer for the fist time and it never healed... it had a nasty growth on it so we finally got a hold of a trailer and got her loaded (hard b/c she isn't broke but not as difficult as I would have thought). We get there and the vet tranq's her which is so sad to see the baby standing there, not being able to lay down, in a confined space. She did fine with that shot but freaked the hell out when the doc tried to deaden the area around the wound on her leg. She tried to kick the hell out of him (and she was 1/2 asleep). He finally decided to do it the fast way/easy way (his words) and got a razor knife to cut off all the dead skin that had formed a knot on her leg. I was fine until I saw that she was feeling that and I had to walk away. But she got back in the trailer slowly and we got her home. She was glad to be back with her buddies and she seems to be walking okay... now we just have to wait and see if it heals on its own... I hope so because I don't want to have to load her again, she's had enough drama for a while!
I have to go to the local Japanese Festival tomorrow for my People and Cultures of Japan class to observe some cultural event and write a short paper on it... should be fun unless it's raining...
I need a new laptop. Mine is fine except I can't close the top because a hinge is fucked up and will lock in the down position. I backed up everything last night with the exception of some music... i need some cds...I hope I can get one light enough to take to classes... this one now is way to heavy for me to cart around all damn day. |
