My subject lines are lame.
Emily was on the computer for close to 11 hours today. Maybe she won't feel the need to be online all day tomorrow and I can write a spoiler report and get the official details and ratings report done. Right now I have another window open, and I've already found a few articles I can work with for extra news (possibly bullets, but more likely individual articles). I'll have to save the links.
Anyway, two things annoyed the hell out of me today:
1) Why can't I just have a headache? I rarely get headaches, and I rarely have them bad enough to actually take anything for them. Usually I just let them run their course. Day before yesterday, I got a pretty bad headache and had to take some Advil to get rid of it. Well, yesterday I got a ghost of the same headache, and this morning/early afternoon I woke up with a ghost of it as well. I said something to my mom about having a headache and she says "You're on the computer too much."
You know what, Mom? Sometimes you just have a headache. It doesn't require someone to give you a reason for having it. I didn't ask 'Hey, why do you think I have a headache?' I simply said I had one, and I woke up with it. God, it's annoying when she acts like I get headaches from being on the computer. Sure, maybe I do sometimes, or the computer makes them worse, but if I got headaches because of the computer, a) I'd have them more often and b) the worst ones would be when I'm online the longest, which isn't actually the case.
Sorry, but that just bugged me. Sometimes orange juice gives me heartburn, sometimes I drink orange juice and don't get heartburn, and sometimes I just get heartburn when orange juice isn't even involved--if I say I have heartburn, don't tell me it's because of the orange juice. [/rant]
Anyway, moving on:
2) I took out the Torchwood DVDs and couldn't get the first DVD to go to the menu on the main DVD player in the living room. It played the little preview for some DC comic thing or another, then went to some claymation thing for the BBC, then just stopped. After a minute, it actually stopped the DVD and sat there like there was no DVD in the player. I put the second disc in and it went to the main menu (after a pause). I went to the portable player in my room and the first disc was acting up a bit, but after a few tries it opened the menu.
I'm not sure if it's my players that are the problem (or at least the one in the living room), or if I actually have a defective disc. Out of the THOUSANDS of sets they make, why must I have the defective one? It's like when I got the third season of NY. First, the fourth disc was screwed the hell up with a weird scratch on it when I opened it, then when they sent the replacement set, that set had two disc 4s and no disc 3. So I took the disc 3 out of the first sent and sent the other set back with two disc 4s.
Now I'm wondering if I should complain about this set. I didn't pay $55 bucks (or whatever I paid) for this DVD set for it to be difficult to watch. *siiiigh*
Ok, now I'm going to save those news links and look for a few more, then I'm gonna head to bed.
Oh! I almost forgot--I watched most of Air Force One on tv tonight. I didn't know Paul Guilfoyle was in that one. *pets him* I was just going to watch it for a half hour or so, then head to my room to putz around, but I ended up watching it to the end. :P
Also: every time I see William H Macy, I always think of that picture of him with the other guys from "In Enemy Hands" with their arses showing. It scarred me for life, seeing his ass. >.< |
