This is a blog I may or may not decide to keep... I haven't quite made up my mind! (I'm an indecisive kind of gal!)
I've never kept a blog before so I'm not sure that I'll actually like the process...
So why am I teetering on the brink of blogship?
Well I've recently embarked on my first course with the Open University, an arts foundation course called An Introduction to the Humanities. It also goes under the snappy handle A103 or, if you choose the online option, A(ZX)103.
It's my first real flirtation with Third Level education and I'm really not sure how I'm going to do. I wasn't exactly an academic type back in school.
I've gotten off to a flying start which may or may not be a good thing! For those not in the know this course starts with a short formative assignment which is ungraded. It eases you into the course as well as giving your tutor an idea of what your academic standard may be like. My tutor was kind enough to give me a fairly high mark (in the Grade One band). Now I'm wondering how on earth I'll keep that up!
The first Block focuses on textual analysis and covers the following disciplines: Art History, Literature (the Sonnet), Music (am heartily dreading as very tone deaf!!!) and Philosophy (partially dreading for its head-wrecking potential).
If the mood takes me I might be back here or then again I might not....
