So I finally made the transition to Mac. It's an awkward transition. The last time I'd used a Mac for anything substantial was 1993. With a few exceptions involving Unix, I haven't used anything except PC's with Windows since. I've gotten really used to the way Windows works, the location of the "start" button, clock, power meter, etc... those things are pretty ingrained into my head. Now "delete" = "backspace" and it's no longer "control"+[key] but "command"+[key]. Those annoyances aside, my Macbook has a great battery life and is exceptionally quite. It rarely builds up heat like my old laptop. I really like the way Mac handles odd symbols and foreign language characters. It was very awkward to type Japanese on my old laptop, but it exceptionally easy on my new one:

私のなめはキースさんです。私はプラトビラにすんでいます。コーヒーがすきです。etc, etc...

Oh yeah, I now have MS Office 2008 for the Mac and it just sucks. Not cause it's for the Mac but because I just hate the changes they made from 2003 to 2008 versions of Word and Powerpoint. Everything takes twice as many clicks for me to do now.
