I wasnt looking forward to XM cuisine as i tot it'll be oily+ salty like some places in China. I recalled dipping my vegs in a cup of water cos it was so salty + oily back then..... but, as i say, im always wrong *LOL*
I had many delectables meals in XM, in fact, i think XM's cuisine is rather close to wat we hv at home.
Every meal ( lunch/dinner ) consists of abt 8dishes + 1 soup.
Soup is usually some fishball/meatball with vegs, or egg with tomato soup ( Im on a pkg tour, so not much variation in terms of food ). There's always 1 prawn dish ( usually fried, but i once had a herbal prawn dish which was absolutely delish ). The rest of the dishes are mostly vegs, chix, steamed egg etc...

A rather posh looking place..... there r many VIP rooms if you want some privacy.
I had the opportunity to dine there thrice and it's always packed...

 Top: Mee Sua with Coagulated pig's blood plus tofu.
Bottom : Yu Bao ( Yam Bun )
When i saw the mee sua, i immediately went for it.... i've not eaten stewed pig's blood
for many year. In fact, i dun think its sold here anymore.... I remembered eating it whenever we had Teochew Porridge. It was a memorable dish... *sigh* too bad we dun hv it here..... ( if any1 knows where to find it here, pls drop me a note ya? )
The Yam Bun ( not a bun, juz the shape only ) is a dif dish to master, and this restaurant makes 1 of the best Yu Bao in XM ( according to the tour guide ).... it was SEDAP!
u can find bamboo shoots/ tofu in it.

This building is located in the commercial district n houses 3 restaurants ( 1 per level ).
We tried 2 out of the 3 restaurants. Below is 1 of them...

 This is a Mao-themed restaurant.... they serve excellent Dumplings!! photography is
prohibited as usual inside these restaurants, but *hee* i managed to catch a few shots :P
Even the waiter/waitresses wear Mao suits!!
BREAKFAST IN THE HOTEL
thoroughly spoilt for choice ... there are 7 stations: drinks/western brekkie/chinese cuisine/toast or bread/ salad/ congee/ fruit. PLUS a cooked-to-order station
( menu changes daily )....
