A postcard from Kiting just arrived in the mail today. I got teary eyed when I saw it! It's
, but I've always said that handwritten things are more special, but I've forgotten how it was since I stopped writing to
who moved to Guam in Grade 5. I lost touch of her somehow. Then Grade 6 came and I was already the internet freak that I was.
Haha. London daw but has an American Flag! :P
Did this cost 5 pounds to send? Or I'm just reading the stamp wrong. I just love it,
it. I will show this to Isa the next time I see her. When i held these in my hands I've forgotten how much I've had a dream and how much I have to focus on learning Spanish. I already have the materials but somehow as the days drive by I did go off road for a bit. I'm going to write soon, promise. Kahit wala muna yung mga hardcopy ng photos mo, haha. Sunod sunod kasi yung shoot ko, I can't even post about it. I need to look for a good place to develop photos :)
Sorry, I'm posting these for your fans, Kiting. Haha! Pag alam ko namang may incriminating, hindi ko na ipopost, hahaha! Yung design nalang sa likod, next time. :) Send us more of these kahit hello lang yung isulat mo, haha! Yung mga sagot ko dito isusulat ko nalang, pronto!!! Keep telling us to try and go there and you see we will!!! Even if it's just a postcard, any word from you will surely inspire Isa and I. You know just like when I took photos of these...
When I thought about this collection, I didn't really think of it in terms of how it's applicable to the trends, or how I in particular would wear it. I thought about Kiting and how her look, her style would appear if it was pushed to the limit. I've probably been complaining about not having constant inspiration but I guess I'm wrong. I never thought I could end up with something as good as this if I hadn't had Kiting in mind.
I'm not really boasting, but I just thought that this is one of my works that I think i did a good job. Saying that is actually good because I ALWAYS batter myself with doubts and criticisms for everything. I need a break.

It surpasses trends, region, race and what not. Although
I must admit I kind of ran out of selections by the end of the shoot. Rakenrol lang ito eh. I borrowed from Isa's Store at MLNW and used some from my own collection. :) Honestly I need to learn a lot more from styling. I still feel like I'm so new to this whole thing. Everytime I feel like that. Which is good, because there's always room for improvement :)
We shot in
Cagayan De Oro, Bukidnon and Davao. It's a three city cross country road trip, haha! I guess before Kiting left for London indefinitely a tribute to her roots here in the Philippines via this photoshoot was a good idea.

Haha! Ang tawang Kiting! Honestly I can't choose which photos are nice. I'm only just supposed to post one, but I just seem to find them all pretty, haha! So bear with me! :P I had a hard time choosing these :) This is actually my favorite outfit among all the six so inuna ko siya, hahaha!

The Bukidnon pics aka Pineapple Lady pics, hahaha!.
These were taken amidst the Del Monte Pineapple Farm.

Black skirt by Rumples Estacio | Belt: Stylists own

I'm really loving the dress, haha! Kiting was actually convincing me to buy it. She can't buy it because she can't wear it to London, it's too cold there, but it's perfect for our weather. This is actually sold at Make Love Not War so try to go there and buy it na before someone else does :P It's only PhP1,195!! (tama ba, Isa?)

I think this was the part where Kiting was asking Anton, her brother, not to look kasi nacoconscious siya, hahaha! I'm not so sure!

Gosh if you see the Del Monte Farms, it's love love love!!! We had to run back inside the van a couple of times evertime a truck would come by. Then there would be a dust storm and we had to wait for it to clear before going out or else we won't be able to see or even breathe!

The bridge behind Kiting is actually a bridge near their house where the river rafters dock. But I just found out that when you cross that bridge it's already Bukidnon! Nakakatuwa! Ewan ko lang ha, kasi parang sinabi mo lang na tumawid ka ng makati papuntang pasig via the Guadalupe Bridge sa Edsa pero parang pag nandito ka sa Mindanao, I don't know why I'm so awed, haha!

Red and blue striped suspenders: Landmark

Sa dulo ng river na ito dun kami nagrafting. Where Kiting is standing, that's where we docked. o diba, AMAZING!

Ang ganda ni Kiting dito. Actually maganda naman siya sa lahat eh, what am I saying, haha! Most of the photos sabi niya parang hindi daw siya. Which I think is good. But I think it's still her, only a more straightforward,
in your face, getting ready for London kind of Kiting.

This one naman, is on a shaking bridge on our way to Buda, Davao. It's so nice that the from the bridge you could see the view of the mountain with the limestones. So funny kasi during the start of the trip I was clueless as to what limestones were. I thought they were green , shiny ones. Emerald naman yon eh, ENGOT, hahaha!

So those are limestones. The rock formations you see on the side of the mountain :) So while we were shooting this the bridge was shaking every time a truck would pass by and it was dead scarryyyyy!!!!

MAY EXTRANG KALABAWWW!!! HAHAHAHHAHA!!!andun hanapin niyo sa likod. :P

This was at their lot across the street from their house. Ang ganda nung lugar nila. Almost everything was landscaped. :) Kiting was standing on a rock here and we had to do this quick or else she'll have trouble keeping her balance. haha!

I wanted to post this one because it's another Kiting smile, haha!

I love this, parang snow queen. Oh yes, it's my neverending walang kamatayang COAT, haha.
Actually that coat I made which I used for my fashion show before was partly Kiting inspired. Paul Smith tapos Kiting, hahaha!

Gold silk top by Isa Alvarez for MLNW | Reversible Coat by Niña Sandejas (I won't bother explaining what it looks like, haha)
Vintage Skirt: Stylist's own | Belt: Stylist's own |Black espadrilles by Colors of Zari

Everwhere you go it's got a really nice view and great location talaga. So if we had more clothes and more time, there would probably more photos. But my luggage was not big enough for more clothes, haha! Plus before I left for
Cagayan De Oro I had a shoot with Lougee of Mojofly for Seventeen Magazine :P HECTIC!!! Pagbalik ko dito sa Manila magkasunod may shoot agad for MEG naman! And another one I forgot! :P

another gate leading out to the river.
Soo super thanks to the Aberasturi Family for giving me such a wonderful time during my short stay in
Cagayan De Oro. :) It's one of my most memorable trips ever. It made me appreciate the Philippines more and realized that even if sometimes I really hate it here in Manila, a quick fix could just be another out of town trip like this :)
