On The Road with DOITALL Entry 15
Category: Music

Wassup everyone. So Let me tell you how everything went down in Richmond VA. First of all I had to make sure everything was ok on the home front, because instead of flying I was catching a train to Virginia from Jersey, along with Dj Puerto Roc who took Dj Lord Jazz's place because Lord Jazz had business to handle in Paris, France.

The night before the trip I got some disturbing and sad news about one of our friends who was like a silent member in LORDS OF THE UNDERGROUND. We received word that our brother Darnell Chase had been Killed. RIP...We will miss you Chase. I am still bothered by this news, and it is hard to keep it together. It seems like things always happens to the good ones.

Our Train ride was at 6:35 am leaving from Newark (Brick City). Puerto Roc was picked up first, then came to get me for the ride to the train station. Once there I seen a guy I grew up with on 19th st. He had his son with him who was 19 years old. I was thinking "DAMN WE ARE GETTING OL".

Once on the train it wasn't bad. It was like a first class flight for those who has ever experienced first class. I had been up kind of late the night before so I went straight to sleep, and so did Puerto Roc. Until we got to Philly. That's when about 8 loud ass people got on the train and disrupted our short nap.

Once we got to Washington Dc a lady got on the train and then all of the sudden started running down the isle screaming "Please Let Me Off THe Train my baby, my baby". I was like damn this broad has left her child at the last stop WOOOOWWWWW( in the Flavor Flav voice). Then later we found out that she didn't leave her daughter but the lady she was waiting for that had her daughter with her had fell down the escalator at the train station and hit her head and died, WOW!! God Bless her family.

It was cold as hell on the train, and of course I had no jacket. Then once we arrived in Richmond it was hot as hell. The ride down was real relaxing over all, I will definetely do that again.

We were picked up by a female driver named Tasha who was real cool. I left my phone charger AGAIN, and had to get another one. Tasha took  us to a radio shack and made life better again. We were also starving and we stopped at Mcdonald's (Can I get a home cooked meal?). From there we went to the Crown Plaza Hotel downtown Richmond were all the artist were staying. The hotel was a nice. Puerto an I made friends with the ladies at the desk. Puerto Roc tried to pull the Rico Suave' move and fed one of them his Chicken nuggets form Mickey D's. He probabaly was the only Puerto Rican in Richmond Virginia at the time so they were loving him.

After check in we went upstairs and tried to relax. My suite and Puerto's room was ajoing so we left the doors open and waited for FunkMan to arrive. I then get a call from Funkman asking which exit was the hotel was off of. He drove up from North Carolina. I then proceeded to tell him he was sharing a room with Dj Puerto Roc. He beging cursing and yelling. Then I told him that I was only kidding and we couldn't stop laughing.

About Fifteen minutes later Funk came to the room with his frat brother and both of them had on their Kappa Alpha Psi shirts. We laughed for a while  Then Funk went over the show again with Dj Puerto Roc, while I jumped in the shower. Before then Dj Lord Jazz also called form Paris to make sure everything was cool. After I got out the shower I received calls from my peoples who are from Virginia that I havn't heard from in years. It was good to hear their voices.

After checking in with our manager Kevin Weekes who was doing a million things this day a couple of  friends stopped by and we all went to the show together. The show was radio one's STONE SOUL PICNIC featuring THE GAME, TANK, LlOYD, YOUNG BERG, PRETTY RICKY, SKILLZ, HOT STYLES, YOUNG JOC, LIL KIM, MIDNIGHT STAR, & us LORDS OF THE UNDERGROUND! Wow what a line up.

Once at the show it was set up nice for everyone. It's amazing to me me that we are still blessed to be doing this thing we call Hip-Hop, but there is a difference. When we were a new group we would show so much love to those who had done it before us. This apparently does happen anymore. so of the artist looked at us like what are you guys doing here, and some even looked at us like who are you. LOL...it was so funny to me. Gorrila zoe who was there, and I met from being around Diddy and Mike Biv showed love, Tank showed love, Skillz showed love. Uzi D from the radio station showed love, Lonnie B (Skillz Dj and on air personality) showed love, didn't see The Game he had another show at the B-day bash in ATL so he performed first and was out first. A couple more of the radio personalities and Dj's show loved and Lil Kim showed the most Loved she gave me the tightest hug when she saw me. (She smelled incredible too!)

So many artist were floating back and forth thru the backstage area. The crowd was on fire. Every artist I saw seemed to do their thing. Now It was time for LORDS to hit the stage. We jumped on stage and it was cool, yeah we rocked like we do, but most of the crowd wasn't even born when Chief Rocka & Funky child was out (you do the math)..lol

After the performance we tore some food up that was in the back. I never saw so many tough artist with body guards. Either all these artist have so much money that people are trying to get at them all the time or they are in so much beef that thhey need to be protected all the time. Lil Kim had two white dudes secret service stlye with the ear pieces in their ears. I can kind of see that for Lil Kim because she is an Icon and a Rock Star. Tank had security that when I went to say wassup to the homie his security put his arm up like stop don't touch him, but Tank quickly said no he is cool and his security retreated. I guess it is just different from when we were really poppinng in the mainstream market.

There was a black guy named Nelson who owned the transportation company that did all the transportation for the event, that was good to see. He showed a lot of love him and his son Nelson jr. Nelson jr. Took us after the show to the ABC store to get right, we were talking about going to the after parties and having some fun. We all piled in the van back to the hotel made a couple pit stops first before arriving at the hotel. The lobby of the hotel resembled or I should say reminded me of past experiences like after freak nic, or Jack the rapper. It was alot of young new artist running around looking to make it happen, whatever that meant to them. Groupie everywhere, Girls & Guys.

My team went upstairs to our rooms, well actually everyone came to my room. My frat brother (ALPHA PHI ALPHA) and good friend Carlton Goode stopped by to say hello and we must have talked for about 2 - 3 hours. It was good to reminsce. He then left, Puerto Roc sparked up and put something in the air, I cracked the Remi, Funk cracked the Baccardi Dark Select. I then walked Carlton down stairs and the lobby was even more popping. I noticed LIL Kim's crew in the lounge of the hotel, everyone seem to be having a great time. I then went back up to the room to take a shower to go hit the spots that we were VIP at. After the shower it was a rap. I didn't want to go anywhere, I was tired as hell Funk and I got dressed we were drinking, Puerto had smoke, there was fireworks going off outside, and then Funk falls a sleep on the couch in my room I damn near fall a sleep on the bed, Puerto Roc goes to his room and falls a sleep. My manager called, My homie KP called, everyone was calling saying that everyone was looking for us at th clubs. Mannnnnnnn we have been there done that for so many years it was just funny to see the younger artist do all the stuff we have been thru already.

After we realized, we really were just going to stay in our rooms, I noticed The hotel floors and lobby were still a zoo. Everyone was high drunk, you know that Rock Star lifestyle. Listen kids out there! DON'T BECOME RAPPERS AND ENTERTAINER's go become a doctor or lawyer or something else! lol....

By this time I am officially in the bed. About 4:30 am, now mind you I have to get up for a 7am train to Washington DC. The hotel fire alarm goes off loud as hell telling everyone to evacuate the building, I was going to stay in the bed until I saw all the fire trucks outside. So I had to get up and proceed to walk down 12 flights of stairs, all I was thinking was which young ass dump drunk ass member of some artist crew set a fire or did something stupid, like just pull the alarm for no reason.

We get downstairs wait for about an half hour then we all proceeded to go back into the hotel. Once we made it back up to the room I said I have to leave in a minute so I can't go to sleep or I would miss my train. I got all my things together so I could get a couple minute of sleep. NOT happening the alarm went off again!! Then Again!!. Of course I new what was going on then someone pull a prank on the whole hotel. So I was not moving this time.

Finally it was time to go. The desk called and said the car service was there to take us to the train station. Puerto got up, Funk was still knocked out. We get downstairs Puerto & I, and then Puerto had to go back upstairs because he forgot something. I was tired so it seemed like it took for ever for him to come back down. We finally get moving, and they said the train station was 20 minutes away, so I am thinking why are we driving forever....Mannnnnn the damn driver who kept talking me to death and wouldn't shut up had drove to the airport instead of the train station, ooooh boy I am so tired I wasn't even mad.

Once at the train station. I didn't see the number of our train. So I go to the customer service desk, and low & behold my manager made a crazy mistake and booked our train for July 15 instead of June 15. Wow we had to go thru the process of booking new tickets and pay more money, but we got it done.

Puerto and I got on the train, and I had to get off in DC and puerto had to switch in Dc to get on the train to Newark. Once in DC my cousin Yazmin picked me up and took me to see the rest of my family. I had such an incredble time. I finished my business in DC and got to see my family and friends now it is time to head back to the Bricks. RIP Chase...you will be missed!!! Love ya homie!!!

You are on The Road with ya boy "Doitall" Du Kelly...Stay Tuned.
