When I came back to Goucher this fall, one of the first things I noticed was that when I opened up Microsoft Word in the library, I didn't recognize it at all. Not only had the layout been revamped, but, for the life of me, I couldn't figure out where the "print" button had gone! I stared at the program for nearly ten minutes trying to figure out how I could print my document for class.

Furthermore, I realized that when I typed up a document on Word in the library, saved it, and emailed it to myself, I couldn't open it on my computer! It'd been saved in some new ".docx" format, rather than the ".doc" format I was used to.

Have you been experiencing similar difficulties with this new, updated version of Microsoft Office?

Next Tuesday, the CTLT will be offering a class to teach students, faculty, and staff the basics of the new Microsoft Office. Come for an hour and stop feeling so frustrated!
