The Stakes: Mary's husband, Stephen, has been seeing Crystal on the side. Crystal hasn't been a stranger with Stephen's wallet, and has been spotted at a fashion fitting by Mary's nosy friends. Mary, who has up to now refrained from dealing with Crystal out of pride, becomes upset at the thought of Crystal assuming her place with her young daughter.
