Post 10 things that are going right in your life right now, it doesn't matter how small. You're happy with your cup of coffee. You saw a flock of geese flying over. ANYTHING. Things that make you happy. Things that make you smile. No pressure.
1) Breakfast. I'm eating a bowl of red quinoa with walnuts, agave nectar, raisins, yogurt and flaxseed oil. It's wonderful.
2) Voting!! Today is Federal Election day in Canuckistan and I am excited! I love voting. <10>dontmentionlove just posted this and I think it's kind of a cool little guide for the strategic vote. I have voted strategically in the past, but I don't like to do that. Luckily this year I live in an NDP safe zone.
3) Thanksgiving was yesterday...or Sunday. I never remember. Sunday night we planned on making our big dinner, but instead we decided to go to the BBQ joint on our way to get movies. I had salad, cornbread and bbq shrimp. We spent the rest of the night drinking cider, watching Sexy Beast (which I loved!) and doing other, adult themed activities. Yesterday I studied and we ate baked salmon with tahini balsamic mustard sauce, bourbon baked acorn squash and broccoli. Yes.
4) Tina. teanut is leaving me for the sunny shores of Montreal in two weeks and I am heartbroken. It's rare in my life as a reclusive misanthrope that I make connections like this with other people and her leaving is no small deal to me. She's brilliant, fun, stylish and fierce in her politics, and we get along like a house on fire. There will be a hole in my life where she was.
5) Tuna Tataki with Tina before school today at our favourite place - Sushiyama!
6) Test. I have a unit exam on Thursday that I've been studying my face off for and I am in no way prepared. Some of the formulas are a mystery to me and I am unclear on how they are applied. I haven't decided if I'm spending the day at the public library or at home sorting all of this out.
7) School. It's probably the biggest force in my life right now at only 9 hours a week of class time. The material doesn't come to me naturally, though, so I'm spending a helluva lot of time studying, and doing the fuckpiles of homework my instructor assigns. All told, I quite like it, but it's pretty stressful.
8) Personal work. As I have stated in more filtered parts of journal, I am doing some heavy personal work at this time in my life and it's really exhausting. In a lot of ways, it feels kind of like homework, but with more breakdowns. I was warned that it would be time consuming and all-encompassing, and that's certainly turned out to be true. With having to focus so much on school, I think this is going to take a lot longer than I had hoped.
9) Weekend. Going to zaftigvegan's B-Day party and then to see Quintron and Miss Pussycat that the Biltmore. Dancing!!
10) Fall in Vancouver is unbelievable. There are still tons of flowers in bloom and the leaves are turning myriad shades of green, yellow, coral, red, rust and purple. It's an incredible spectacle of colour. |
