NaNo is upon us people, are you ready?? I still don't have a solid description (is that the word I want?) for my main male M.C. Some parts of the story line make it kind of confusing, but I don't get into that right now. I do not even have a name for main male M.C. It was going to be Patrick, but I decided that that name better fits a different character in a different book. I should make a name up now. I think I'll use the random name generator to come up with the first name . . . okay. Got a name. Yea!!! These next few days will be crucial for the development of my story. Other than the fact that I don't even have a name for the 'evil step-mother' (He heh . . . ), there is much to be done with character development, plot arrangement, and trying to figure out how and when twists will come in so that my story arc will not be as lopsided as it was last year.
Oh blah . . . I have half the mind to just write it as it comes. That's always SUPER FUN! And in some instances that will be the case, but even writing out character profiles helps you to become more intimately involved with the characters, which can either help push the story along, affirm that the story is going in the right direction, or even help you to realize that something is completely improbable given the character's temperments. All very important when writing. Particularly if you consider yourself a character-driven writer.
Here's the synopis that I have on NaNoWriMo about my story which is entitled Oneironaut Accounts: Fairy Tale Dreams Gone Awry
There are those who say that dreams are the subconscious thoughts of your mind . . . but it is through your dreams that you travel to the subconscious mind of others. Dreams take you to different realms; different worlds. Dreams are what connect all beings together. In ordinary circumstances, dreamers are never suppose to know that in their dreams they travel to new worlds. But sometimes extreme measures must be taken to protect a realm. Sometimes a foreign world needs an oneironaut. That is where Ren Cartwright comes in. When she first started having reoccurring dreams, she didn't think much of it. But they didn't stop. And with hardly a notice, she is suddenly pulled into this strange world where animals talk, magic exists, and people actually think that True Love's Kiss is the answer to everything. It is up to her to stop the Wicked Stepmother who plans to control the entire realm. But how is a woman who has always been too nice for NYC suppose to defeat an evil mastermind? After all, Ren has read the original versions of the Disney stories and things are never as pretty as the cartoons make them out to be. Even in a land of fairy tales things are almost certain to go awry.
Does that sound like something that would interest you??
Anyway, it's about time for me to stop writing about writing and instead get around to writing. At least writing about what I will be writing in four more days!!
Write on!
