I e-mailed four of my professors from college asking them nicely if they'd write recommendations for me. On 3/4 of the e-mails, I spelled recommendation as "recomendation" in the subject line, so I feel like ONE GIANT IDIOT. Stupid gmail not spellchecking the damn subject line. Damn damn damn.

On the other hand, I feel somewhat better now that I've requested them, though. That means half of the hard part is over--I just have to write the stupid personal statement. I'm going to use part of what I wrote for the "about my life" creative writing assignment and tweak it so it works and addresses the question...since I basically wrote about reading and writing anyway. I just need to work in my expectations and goals. I bought a book on how to get into grad school, so we'll see how that all works out.

I got an e-mail from the University of Michigan asking me to apply there, too...and yeah...no Michigan. Too much snow in Michigan. I know there's probably too much snow in Indiana, too, but I wouldn't apply to any schools there, either, except it's frickin' Notre Dame, dammit. Anyway...

Yeah. I still have a lot to do, but it doesn't feel as daunting, really, anymore. Let's hope I can keep up the momentum.
