The tropical depression/storm is blowing through North Texas at the moment and the gusts of wind have dropped the temperature from 100 to around 85. People were outside watching the clouds race across the sky.

After 10 hour days at work and nonawesometastic traffic, we came home and got the Old Man runnin' again for the first time in almost two months - basically, ever since we took the carburetor and the brake lines and the cracked fuel lines off. It felt good to hear it turn over and roar to life.

I hitched up the light to the hood at around 8, made one stop at the auto shop for the right size fuel hose (3/8", not 5/16") and installed the new fuel filter and the hoses while Aaron broke the rusty bleeder screws loose, removed them, and cleared the blockages. The lines were good after all. It's been hours, days, of work for Aaron and he was game to get stock brake lines and bend them - tain't purdy but they's new and they work!



When we took a break for Taco Bell and beer, I said that all we have left before we can drive it again is to "breed the blakes", right? Aaron's eyebrows shot up and he said, "Well, we better leave them to it then."


I have decided one thing. I'm leaving the blue jug. It just fits.

We'll be at Hailey's tomorrow night to see This Will Destroy You (in the butt). They're supposed to go on at 11, but I plan on gettin' my celebratory drinkin' on before then - especially if we can BREED THE BLAKES and take the Old Man to the Square. It's time to let the MazRocket rest a while.
