It's been gray all day and threatening to rain, so Aaron is using the time to research carburetors online.

The carburetor that's on there is missing parts and even though it works, it doesn't work very well. Turns out that WOIB (whoever owned it before) replaced the factory exhaust with headers, which meant they also had to replace the carburetor because the original ran on a heat, or hot air, choke that hooks up to the original exhaust (that was removed). Rather than get a Edelbrock #1901 for it, WOIB put on an old Rochester/GM equivalent - from a 1968 Camaro 350, the model that rolled off the lines with a Powerglide transmission.

Um. Not so much with the power, now, on something this heavy.

So, now that we know what we're looking for, we're having a bit more luck finding replacements.

Things we've replaced since we got it home:
- drive belts
- transmission pan gasket
- instrument gauge cluster
- spark plugs
- PCV valve
- brake master cylinder

Things waiting on deck (we've bought):
- oil pan gasket
- exhaust manifold gaskets
- intake manifold gaskets
- spark plug wires
- fuel filter (which was off a completely different GM model, to go with the carb, which led to the research)
- fuel hoses

Things we need to get:
- stainless steel brake lines, master cylinder to proportioning valve
- Edelbrock #1901 carburetor
- washer fluid pump
- steering gearbox

That list was by memory. I'm sure there's other stuff I'm forgetting right now. His current state is one of being quite waterproof, but he won't start with all the hoses taken off and even if he started, he ain't stoppin' anytime soon. LOL Aaaaand he's a little dirty from all the rain, but he's good. May we'll get out there soon. Rains cooled everything off...
