Ok, for those of you that know me, you know I read a lot. All types of books and a large range of Authors. Therefore, I am a bit diversified in my readings. What I am about to tell you about is a story that I started yesterday and will finish today. I had very little time for reading yesterday as I was off and running from morning until bedtime. So this story will be told in parts to you.

To give credit where credit is due, this story is in the book "In Search of Ghost" written by: Hans Holzer. He has been hunting Ghost for five decades and is considered an expert in his field. He has written many books and the story I am about to tell comes from "In Search of Ghost" and it is a true story that happened here in my town "Tyler, TX" in the mid 1960's. To be exact it occurred from the year of 1965 thru 1968. I really wish you all just had a copy of this to read yourself, because it will lose a lot in the translation -- as I cannot type it word for word and I am sure I will miss quite a bit. There are going to be parts however, I am quoting word for word as it is the best way to describe something that is happening. Therefore, with all of this in mind let me begin...

In 1968, Hans Holzer received a phone call from a gentleman by the name of L.H. Beaird of Tyler, Texas. His daughter (who lived in Austin) had heard of Mr. Holzer's work with Ghost and decided someone with his experience would be the only one that could perhaps help them.

The story then goes on to tell the reader about Mr. Beaird and his family. The wife (Named Johnnie but John for short) seemed to have some "mental problems" after their move to Tyler and she went to live with her sister in a nearby town. Mr. Beaird and his son (named Andy) in his teens) lived in the home together and his daughter was already living in Austin.

By the time Mr. Beaird contacted Mr. Holzer (September 1968) the phenomena had already stopped. It seems it had ended as abruptly as it had started. This too is typical of genuine poltergeist activities, since they depend solely on the available free energies of living people. As will be seen in the course of this investigation, when the energy became no longer available since the Beairds removed themselves from the home. There are other factors of course. It is not as simple as plugging in on a power cord, but in essence, poltergeist activities depend not only on the desire of a disturbing entity to manifest but also on the physical condition of the unconscious part of those whom they wish to use as power supplies.

This house that the Beairds had to leave under pressure from their poltergeists was on Elizabeth Street. It was a one-story ranch-type home, pleasant enough to look at and then about fourteen or fifteen years old. You would enter the house through a porch that was located somewhat above the road. There was a garage and a steep driveway to the right of the porch. Once inside the house, you would be in the living room with a den to the left and a dining room to the right. Beyond the living room was a kitchen and a rather long room leading directly to a breakfast room. On the extreme left were two bedrooms. To the right of the house behind the garage was the workshop, which, in the period when Mr. Beaird owned the house, was used as such. There was also a concrete slab separating the shop from the garage, and the garage contained a ladder leading to the attic.

When Mr. Holzer was ask to take a look into Mr. Beairds case, he ask him to please dictate in his own words the story of these three years of unrelenting terror. Therefore, below is the story in Mr. Beairds own words:

Mr. Beaird and his wife Johnnie "John" had worked together in the same office for 32 years when they retired and moved to Tyler. To sum it up regarding the wife. She had been acting a bit strange for a few years prior to the move to Tyler, however, it seemed to really get much worse after her move here. She talked to people that were not there, would lock herself in her room for hours at a time, and other things. So, finally they felt it would be best if she moved in with her sister who could be with her 24 hours a day and could watch her. She had set on fire things in the house and would lay her cigarettes on furniture and this sort of thing. Therefore, she really was not safe to neither herself nor her family.

Andy (who was 13 at the time this all began), shared with Mr. Holzer every one of the horrible experiences, which started in midsummer of 1965 and lasted without interruption until the end of 1966, when he were "told" that they were over with, only to find that during the next fifteen months we were in for even worse things. If Andy had not been with Mr. Beaird during these experiences, Mr. Beaird said he would sure have considered himself hopelessly insane.

The frightening events began to take place near the middle of 1965, about the time John (Mrs. Beaird) stopped going anywhere with her husband and son. She would stay home and lock herself in her room. Mr. Beaird and his son shared a room together.

During the first year at the house, the usual summertime insects had not bothered them, so he did not bother to repair the screens that needed fixing at the time. However, during July of 1965, Andy and his dad would go to bed, and as soon as they would turn out the lights, they were plagued with hordes of June bugs of all sizes, which would hit them in the head and faces, some glancing off the floor, others landing on the bed, and some smashing themselves against the metal window blinds. Night after Night, they fought these bugs in the dark, grabbing those that landed on the bed and throwing them against the blinds as hard as they could.

Then they discovered that at least half of the bugs that hit them were already dead, in fact had been dead so long that they were crisp and would crumble between their fingers when they picked them up. As soon as they would turn on the lights, they would cease immediately. There would be no sign of them in the air, only hundreds of them littering the floor and bed. As soon as they would turn the lights back off, they would fill the air again, as if someone was just standing there throwing them by the handfuls. One night the dad actually got up and vacuumed and swept the entire floor, moved every piece of furniture and dusted the backs of the dresser, chest, and tables. Then he stuffed rags into the cracks beneath the closet and hall doors and even the air vents. As soon as he turned off the lights, they were there again! Blasting them from every direction. (Before this point I would have ALREADY moved out)

Many times Mr. Beaird would be in his workshop and hear the door to the house open and close and nobody would be there. There were times also that the bathroom heater would suddenly have flames in it. They even turned the gas off to it, only to find later it was back on and flaming up the wall.
After his wife had moved in with his sister, he would hear his name being called by her. However, nobody would be there. He would hear it coming in her voice (although she was not there since she was living in another town). The son Andy would hear his name being called too. They also heard six other voices throughout the weeks to come. Some of the voices were of people that had already passed away, while others were of voices of people that would soon after pass away.

One night while Mr. Beaird was out in his workshop, he noticed a bench that had a grill under it had been moved. The grill was taken off the wall. This grill was between the kitchen and the workshop. A voice (coming from where the grill had been removed) started calling him. The voice started telling him to do all sorts of bad things and he told the voice that he refused to do them. At this point, a can of bug spray was picked up and held in mid air in front of him and the can of bug spray was emptied on his face. Now I know all of this is a bit hard to believe, but this is actually supposed to have happened.

At this point I will stop. If you guys want me to finish the rest of this story, I gladly will, but if it is too boring for you or too long, just let me know and I won’t go any farther. I’ll wait for your replies. (We are about half way there)
