Books finished:

Indelible Shadows: Film and the Holocaust by Annette Insdorf. This was a fascinating read. Discussion on hundreds of films about the holocaust--both fiction and documentaries. I believe this is the third edition and with each edition she's added more films to the discussion. This was particularly interesting to me because of so much is about European films I've not only never seen but never heard of. And it reminded me that I've always wanted to see the documentary The Partisans of Vilna (about Abba Kovner and his incredibly brave friends who resisted) and it's now on DVD.

The Opposite of Fate: Memories of a Writing Life by Amy Tan. I've never read any of Tan's fiction (though I've just downloaded one of her novels onto the Kindle) so this memoir is really my introduction to her writing. Highly recommended ... so many wonderful and insightful things on writing and the writing business. I expect I can see myself reading this one many times.

It would be nice if Tonks would stop giving me the cold shoulder. I put Aadvantage on her almost a week ago and she's really holding a grudge about it and will hardly let me touch her. No scritches. No coming for her nightly cuddles on the bed. No grabbing me when I stop petting her. She is very vexed with me.

Teddy continues to be enraged with life in general.
