Last night I saw this incredible BOLLYWOOD movie, Rock On!!
This movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1230165/
So here's my review of it ^^
'Rock On'- Movie Review: Kahani: It's about Magic: a rock band who dreamed of stardom, got their chance by winning a talent hunt .. but blew it and the band broke up. Years later the band members, who are now living completely different lifes, meet again. They all still share the same dream, of making music and making it big ... Performances: Farhan Akhtar: This guy is the best! He has the whole package; looks, outstanding acting, an amazing voice and the it-factor which not many people have. His acting was on the highest level throughout the movie, he played the role of a rocker brilliantly and of a successful businessman flawlessly. His expressions were heaven Short n sweet: Superb What's really shocking is why he didnt make his acting debut earlier? With the talent he has he could have been a superstar by now. I just hope he keeps acting, we need more talented actors like Farhan in this industry. Overall he was the best thing about the movie, if you're looking for quality- he's your man! And also ... he's HOT as hell I'll give Farhan a 5/5 Arjun Rampal: Our own BW rocker. He has the right image for the movie. He played his role as Joe, the leading guitarist of the band, very naturally. Nothing looked forced, it simply looked like he was born to play this role. I cant think of anyone else other than Arjun as Joe. His voice, his style, his everything made him look like a true rockstar. I've missed Arjun in movies where he can show off his talent, thank God he signed Rock On .. warna kya hota!! Eventho the moochein didnt suit his sexy face he looked great! Arjun gets a 4/5 Luke Kenny and Purab Kohli: They were fabulous aswell. Out of the two of them, Purab stood out more. He was fun to watch and he gave a very fine performance as KD the drummer. Purab gets a 4/5 and Luke 3/5 Prachi and Shahana: They both had different roles. Prachi played the pregnant wife of Aditya, her character was calm and loving and she performed it well. Shahana deserves to be applauded, she plays Joe's wife and a mother to a young boy and she was awesome! I'll give Prachi 3.5/5 and Shahana 4.5/5 Music: The music is unique. It's something we've never heard in bollywood movies before, it's refreshing and addictive. The lyrics are different and fresh, it goes from fun lyrics that dont really make sense (Meri Laundry Ka Ek Bill, Ek Aadhi Padhi Novel?) to very deep and meaningful songs (Tum Ho Toh Gaata Hai Dil .. Tum Nahin Toh Geet Kahan). It's not only for rock fans, it's for people who appreciate music. The music plays a huge part in the movie and it's fantabublous!! Baaki-Sab: Baaki sab is all about Farhan, I love him after watching this movie. I mean I loved him as a director since DCH but my love has grown so much now after seeing him act He's so multitalented its crazy! How can person be so perfect (sorry if you dont agree, pyar insan ko andha kardeta hai ). He has a PERFECT voice, and please dont tell me he doesnt .. that means you're tone deaf. So, here I thank Abhishek Kapoor for signing Farhan for his movie ^^ The Bottom-line: It's a high quality movie, with a strong storyline and even stronger performances, great music and awesome dialouges. I esp loved it when Arjun said "Mere legs se video ki sexappeal bhadegi" (sorry if I didnt get it correct, dont remember how he exactly said it), it made it so much funnier The negative thing is that the movie can be slow at times, it's not like DCH which kept you entertained throughout the movie, apart from that it's a must-watch movie. I'll give the movie a 4/5, minus 0.5 because the parts were you feel like nothing much is happening- where the movie gets boring. Umm .. dont missunderstand me tho .. overall it's NOT a boring movie!! Abhishek Kapoor rocks! Watch it today, and if you can, watch on the big screen .. a movie like this deserves to be watched in the cinemas. 4/5 |
