If you could live forever how would you spend your time?
Swooning over Bella Swan of course! DUH!
In other news, my desktop has apparently taken a shit-dive towards its deathbed. Or something.
I was in the middle of transferring my photos of Bryce that are on our desktop's main computer harddrive and all of the sudden the damn thing froze up. An error popped up that said it couldn't transfer a certain picture file because it couldn't read from the original disk source. And then it wouldn't let me do anything else. It just froze. I couldn't even get the task manager up. So we just cut the power to it and tried to restart it. The damn thing beeped and came up with some boot error telling me to press F1 to reboot or F2 for setup or something or other. Pressing F1 just made the harddrive beep and bring back the message. Eventually a message came up saying "cannot load harddrive" or something or other. And as such, my computer is possibly dying.
Any chance this could have occurred towards the end of my transferring of files? Any chance I could have gotten everything but a few of the last unsorted photos (the tiny crap files I was planning to delete anyway) out? NO. I got everything except for the damn PHOTOSHOOTS folder. 90% of the Bryce photo shoots I have are locked up on my desktop harddrive. I might just have a heart attack if there is no way to retrieve them. I may be able to find a couple of photoshoots online again, but not all of them.
So woe is me.
Everyone just cross your fingers that perhaps the thing will resurrect itself long enough that I can get the last of my files off there. Or that my dad's friend can revive it fully or at least retrieve some stuff off of there.
At least the majority of my saved files are on our second harddrive that we installed. And that one at least should be perfectly okay. Why I never moved ALL of my Bryce photos to that harddrive, I'll never know. *shakes head*
Although this could mean we might be getting a new desktop. When I informed my mom of what happened, we started talking and realized the damn thing is around 8 or 9 years old. Which was kind of a shock to me to think about it. But it's true. Poor Jack Morton Rainey III is super old and possibly on his deathbed. SADNESS you guys. Much sadness. Even though I have in fact been ignoring him for the good part of two years since I got my lovely laptop Alloy. Still SAD. |
