This morning I remembered the thermometer that we have out behind the house, on the deck, the measly little excuse for a deck. 30 degrees F, 10 degrees C, needless to say, it was cold. I put off getting on the bike to come in here, the cold convinced me that I didn't need to get here too early. There is the presentation as well. Dr. Alice and I finished it yesterday so there really is no reason to rush in. I'm sure something else will come up that will have to be put done immediately if we want to save the world from total destruction. I've never failed in a task of such importance, that I know of. But then one has to ask, "If the world is distroyed, will we know it?" Who is to say that it hasn't happened already and just hasn't caught up with us yet?
I'm not sure what I'm going to tackle today. I need to let the DHL collection sit for a bit so I can let it ramble about in the back of my mind, try to get a plan for the next step and where to go from here. It would be easy to begin databasing it. I may even start that tomorrow. There is so much to do. Today I'm going to work on some of the 11,000 Medley specimens left to mount. If you consider that I can mount 30 specimens per day, and there are five work days in a week. if I mounted specimens every week, monday through friday, for a year I would only have 7800 mounted. That is obviously not going to happen so I'm guessing that if I work for two years doing at least four days a week mounting I'll be able to get those done in 2 years. Then there is the Woodward Collection, another 9000+. Anyone have some spare time that they are interested in tossing my way....
