Piracy is something I'm pretty comfortable with *arrrrr me hearties!*. I'm a US TV addict and don't appreciate the disdain that aussie tv networks treat me with. Family Guy is my crack. But aussie tv wait for months to screen the latest episodes. I need fix NOW!
So, with Pirate hat on and eye-patch affixed, I was on the prowl for a program this time. Adobe Creative Suite to be exact. *arrrrrrrr*. I got the urge to get back into some webby stuff and hopefully fix up a couple of really old websites that I did around 4 years ago. I'm not the greatest web designer that ever lived, but I do enjoy the tinkering aspect to it. Anyway, I trolled the usual sites to find a torrent and had something of a crisis of conscience.
Should I really be paying for this? Stealing IS bad... mmkay.
So I went to adobe to check out how much this thing costs, just to see if I could be a good citizen for once.
US $1799! No really... US$1799. Fuck me with a wooden leg.
Want more nonsense? From the Australian site they want AUD $3205! Considering the exchange rate is pushing parity at the moment (something we haven't seen since the 70s), I almost choked on my parrot.
eBay pricing was better. AUD$1000 was the best I found for a full version.
It left me in no doubt why piracy is rampant around the world. And now I only have 800MB to go... *ARRRRRRRRR*
