I am still sick, not terribly badly but I am cold and shivery and I have a little fever.

So I stayed home and worked on my site, decided that the entry page was sort of limp and depressive and made it cheery and with lots and lots of little links, added context to the Technopeasant story, and added a page on my cat Terry.

Most of the stories of my cats are sad stories, even the ones that I find funny and tender when I tell them. The fact is, past cats are cats that left you, died, or were lost, or were sick. Since I have a habit of collecting strays and shelter cats, a higher proportion than normal of them were sick cats, needy cats. Maybe this says something about me, I don't know.

Terry was a sad cat. She was a small sick thing when I got her, and she was FIV+, and for most of her life she was I am afraid in discomfort if not pain. I have seen her play, but not a lot.

I have yet to do the page on Topolino, my favourite among my cats, the one I loved the most, and the one who disappeared and whose fate I never knew. I am not sure I should, really, because whenever I sift through my photos for old snaps of my cats and found of him I am reminded of how much I loved him, what a smart, clever, lively cat he was, and it still hurts as none of my other lost cats hurt.

I have cared and tended all of my cats, but Topolino and Zip I loved the most.
And looking through my old photos... is strange. There are a lot of photos of me smiling and happy, although I know of course that whenever I was photographed I was not in one of my worst moments.

But strange all the same.
