FYI: Alec at Conflikt (and what are filk conventions anyway?)

As included in the recent Conflikt progress report , Alec will be at Conflikt this year ( Renton Holiday Inn , January 29-31). He will have a concert slot at 8pm Friday night ( schedule ) and be selling CDs/DVDs/etc. Yes, it is possible to join for just a day. Hi there, winter

It's under 29F at my house. In daytime. Yes, this is abnormally low here. The seasonal state highways ( Chinook Pass , Cayuse Pass , North Cascades Highway ) are "closed until spring" , though whether "spring" means March or June is always in question. Alec's Portland show tonight is canceled due to a) Pub closing early due to snow and b) Bard stuck on the wrong side of the Siskiyous....
