Via Russ comes the terrible news that danloncaric has passed. Though I never met him in person, I always had a soft spot for the guy. His mini trip reports to Diamond Jim's were always great to read, and his knowledge of the game was excellent. I even badgered him to deposit to GamesGrid just to play KCL with us, and he was good, though it was to be expected. What set him apart was his deep love and even deeper knowledge of the blues. The guy knew everything, and saw almost everyone that ever made a guitar cry. Just through our comment conversations, he was always able to wow me with a club, a date and a gig and just knew SO much -- so many specifics. I wish I would have known him -- just to hang out and listen to his stories in person. I always enjoyed the fact that he was an old St. Louis boy that never really left, which was evident whenever he wrote about the city and the Cardinals. I think he saw every blues act that rolled through that city for about thirty years. His depth and breadth of knowledge in poker, the blues and life in general will be sorely missed. My condolences go out to his wife, his daughter and his granddaughter.
