Who thinks they're hidden?

This cheapy article on Avatar starts by saying that some people are seeing hidden anti-war, pro-environment messages in the film, then debates whether they're all that hidden. I want to know who thinks they're hidden. Who on earth is so oblivious that he thinks this film is subtle? Part of me wonders if the author of the article took some liberties with a statement just so he could have an angle...
