Best etymology ever

Maxwell's Demon: "after J. C. Maxwell, its hypothecator." That's just an awesome word.  Next time I create a character for any sort of game, I'm calling him (or her) "Soandso, the Hypothecator!"  ("Suppose, just for argument's sake, that I'm stabbing you in the spleen...")

Czech etymology question

Hi fellow Linguaphiles! I'm curious about the etymology of the Czech term cesta ('path'). Does any of you have any information on this? The dictionaries I've consulted so far say this word has no cognates in other Slavic languages.

Word for the day

Today's Word For the Day is Antifogmatic Main Entry: an·ti·fog·mat·ic Function: noun Inflected Form(s): -s Etymology: 1anti- + fog + -matic (as in rheumatic) : a drink of liquor taken to counteract the effect of fog or dampness I don't think I need one (although I suspect I could have used one last night), but it's a pretty cool word nonetheless.
