Here is the situation: I just washed my 100% cotton duster, which previously fell right to my ankles. It is now four and a half inches too short. Do I block it out? Do I buy more yarn and knit nine more inches of length, plus the bias tape I've been knitting like crazy, then wash it once more and hope it comes out perfect? Or... or... is there some sort of magical fix-it-upper that I can use?...

Yes, this . See, I don't have nearly enough pins to hold all that in place, and I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Also, on blocking mercerized cotton--is it all right to steam-block? As in, I hover a steam iron over it until the steam is completely absorbed or whatever it does?
