Day 7, Yosemite

No time for a full on entry right now, but I just posted a 1/2 dozen pictures at Picasa from Yosemite, where taking good shots seems to be no more complicated than shooting fish in a barrel. (Speaking of which, has anyone ever actually done this? It seems like you'd put a hole in the barrel with your first shot, which would kind of defeat the purpose of the barrel in the first place. Going back a few days...

Here's a picture I didn't take time to post while we were in SF. This tree is along the "Avenue of the Giants," a winding alternate to Hwy 101 outside of Eureka. The Redwoods are spectacular! (Follow the link on the picture for more shots on Flickr)

Vacation Variations

Sadly, DEC's work has dictated that our vacation must be postponed. Thankfully, it's only by a couple of weeks: instead of leaving next Tuesday, we're taking off on the 24th, just before Memorial Day. Day 6, SF

Ten Things I learned about SF 1. SF has beautiful sunsets 2. 50's diners in SF are fun, but the prices seem to have gone up a bit 3. Days 4 & 5, Eureka and SF

No pictures today: don't have the time to dump the memory cards. We spent Tuesday traveling to and around Eureka, CA, with side trips to Ferndale, which is a really cute little Victorian dairy town a few miles off the beaten path. A Kitty Vacation?

... I even weighed her, and don't think she's lost an ounce. I guess she must have gone on vacation, and then decided that 18 days was enough. Maybe she'd killed all the mice the neighborhood?
