Upscaling

...else will look worse cause it appears 'zoomed in'. I must have something wrong cause why else would so many people buy HDTV's. Finding an answer/explanation is harder then I thought ;/ best thing I can get is 'it'll be ok' which isn't good enough for me. As far as I know the 'upscaling' differs from HDTV's meaning if I buy the wrong one I'm gonna be fucked anyway. Anyone want to explain? ;( ---

I finally got round to trying the Blu-ray disk that came with the PS3. I wasn't expecting a huge improvement over my upscaling DVD player, since my projector isn't true HD (1080p), it's 720p resolution. But I was wrong. The difference is striking.
