gift registry question

... Only other thing I am worried about is getting the gifts home. Our wedding will be in MO, near family, and we live in SC. I am hoping people might order online and have the items shipped to us if our moms tell them we have issues getting the things home. Gift cars are an option, but I have a feeling that some of our guests find them too unpersonal since his family tends to like to give gifts.
