So yeah, I've made it to England, rested up some, unpacked, had a shower (actually several by now) ... all the important things ;-) Took a walk around the countryside a bit yesterday evening. Otherwise, I haven't made it out to public actually around people yet. After spending so much time completely surrounded by people, I have had no inclination to go be around yet more people just yet. ...
... released elsewhere in Europe were somewhat spicier. Maribel Hidalgo is marvellous as the crazed and vicious widow of the deceased Lord Archibald. The best of Jess Franco’s movies in my opinion are the ones where he gives both the trippiness and the sleaze full rein. The Night of the Assassins is Franco Lite, but it’s still entertaining and it has a rather engaging oddness about it.
... but usually just one thing has a noticeable colour. In this one everything did. I think I spend too much time browsing deviantart. ...I actually like is "Electric Feel", but that one’s pretty awesome, if also mildly racist. It’s also apparently exactly like northern California. But anyway, the others kind of sacrifice quality for trippiness, while "Electric Feel" combines them to make something that’s actually really cool. ... - it's certainly not a Saturday night popcorn flick - this is one to watch if you want your spirit stirred, your eyes massaged by a visual feast and your brain blown to tiny pieces by the sheer trippiness of the whole thing. I loved Michel Gondry's film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind , so had been wanting to see his follow up film The Science of Sleep for since I had the misfortune to ...
... 2001 movie Wendigo was on IFC... Both are TRIPPY AS HELL horror flicks and I still don't have any clue what was going on much of the time in either of them...
