feather teather

Hi all. I have a question for you. I was considering getting an aviator harness for my cockatiel, but found a feather teather on sale today for $3.00 !!! well I had to get it, too good of a deal! thing is, she is terrified of it. And its a figure 8 style, so I am wondering if anyone has any good tips on how to "fit" it right, or what to expect. any tips? helpful advice? thanks!
