I bought wayyy too much fabric to make pads so I was thinking of making extras to give away to the less fortunate. However after my eighth one the sewing machine started going wierd. I was using the zig zag stitch thing, hoping to make them more durable, however the stiches started going wierd and the back strings ( from the bobbins) were showing up at the front. The string also started to ...
... I wanted to do, and then a) not do it b) have moments when I get bored and run out of things to do. Oh the excuses I make for myself... 1) Learn how to do shirring. 2) Buy zips/charms/sewing supplies to fuel my great desire to make things:) 3) Finish making my striped jsk, and then start on the grey one. 4) Make another bag 5) There is still the light blue thick cotton I bought for a jsk/skirt? ...
... new to this community lurking wise, first time posting. I was wondering what kind of thread you use and where do you get it. I live in country that is practicallyilliterate when it comes to true sewing notions, especially threads. There's mostly cheap polyester crap, a fewheavy duty cottons (in, like, a five color range, cause they're only used for jeans) and two stores (yep, in the whole ...

... figuring it out. I certainly would not have figured it out without Duncan's and Birch's help. Thanks Birch, I went back and tried the bobbins from my singer and they worked. Now, I need to figure out how to clean it and how to tell ahead of time which stitch will be up. There is this lovely knob, but I can't find the guide to line up the stitch Icon. Soon to be a two sewing machinefamily.
My current take-alongsewing project: That's 7_1, 7_3, 7_7 and 7_2 from the Rolfsen KnotTable . What I eventually do with it depends on how far my patience extends.

These will be robes of the non-trailing kind, to be worn over cassocks. I shall use polar (very warm), wool (warm and ...
... not really as wide as the pattern. In both cases I was able to use the arm cuffs or waist band for the ankles, eliminating the need for hemming. I also used the serger to do all of the sewingexcept for making the elastic casing at the waist. The whole project was pretty quick n' easy: about 45 minutes total, perhaps. And two pairs of pants for a dollar (not counting a little elastic and thread) ...
...a done deal. Sorry, no hints. Alright, one hint: I'm looking at videogame characters this time. I bought a sewingmachinea few weeks ago, poured over the manual and practiced a bit with the generous amount of unused fleece .... If I could use it with the final costume, gravy. If not, I'd at least get valuable sewing XP out of it. I made it in the pattern's Large size because A.) I wanted it to be ...
