Vacation... had to get away

We had a wonderful time camping at Alder Lake Park, WA, this weekend.  The weather was beautiful and HOT.  Mt. Ranier was super clear and there were nice "easy" hikes around the lake.  While we were there we were able to take a trip on the Mt. I Want One!

My husband and I went to a Kestrel festival today at a winery sporting the birds name.   We got to watch a falcon dive demonstration and see many beautiful birds of prey along with a few birds from a rehabilitation center.  Two birds from the rehabilitation center that were amazing to see were a Great Horned Owl and a Pigmy Owl - The two extremes in the owl group.  I talked with the ...

Swan Pond

There are some swans near our house and I got there too late to photograph them properly, but I took some pictures anyway.   I brightened the photo a bit, and I think it looks like they are swimming on ink.  The swans are beautiful and tame and I want to go back and try when it's daylight.
