A bit unusual question

Anyone have a good excuse for this one? For those of you who don't want to wade through the article, Senator Vitter frequented a Canal Street brothel in New Orleans, and was apparently quite fond of dressing up in diapers. This isn't politically correct for a Republican Senator, what excuses would you give if you were him?
