need help remembering a movie!

... scene i remember specifically is there is a large white house, with a huge fountain in front of it. there was a dead body in the fountain. the character (either a man, or a little boy) is walking down a hallway, to a room ... and that's all i remember. i saw this movie when i was very young, around 7 or 8. it was definitely made in the 80s. sorry i don't remember much more! thank you in advance!
