Also, most of Heinlein's juveniles are closer in time to Einstein formulating the theory of relativity than they are to us. Anything written in or prior to 1977 (Fred Pohl's Gateway , say, or Niven's A World Out of Time ) is as close or closer to the end of World War Two than it is to us.
