Mastering a stringed instrument

I thought this was an impossible task for my little fingers (and yes, I have tried and can play approximately 1.09 songs on guitar), but apparently there's hope for me yet. I found the ukelele tucked away in the bedroom of One Who We Housesit, and a bunch of goofy tabs online. I can reach all the notes! My fingers hurt from lousing around most of this morning and afternoon strumming my skin off....
