In 2007 I tried to play at least one Knizia game each time I had a long gaming day. In 2008 I tried to work through as much of Martin Wallace's catalog as I could. For 2009, I have a new goal: to play through the entire set of Alea games, in order of publication (and write about them as I do). As far as I can tell, this is a complete, correctly ordered listing of Alea releases. Ra, LB #1 -- ...
... I'll write some brief notes later this week on what I played and what I didn't Then I need to get some articles on my schedule for BGN to talk about Martin Wallace and his game designs. I love games with multiple currencies. I always describe Reiner Knizia's Beowulf as a six-currency auction game, and I'm thrilled that his Money is coming back into print too, thanks to Fred Distribution.
.... No luck. The Lucky Lab crowd seem to be pretty heavily into abstract eurogames, so even the Knizia-designed LotR was too gimmicky for them.* Instead we played Modern Art, which is about numbers, ...'t enough time to play anything else, so we all went home. It will be an adventure. Sunday we went to Tarara with Charley the rude druid and his family. The weather was great, Donegal XPress rocked as usual, and we liked his wife. The 2 year old daughter was ...
