There's a dusty old fashioned juke box that plays the same sinister twangy blues no matter what record is playing. Chris likes the place for its constant cloud of wispy cigarette smoke, and the clean burn of good liquor he has no qualms enjoying...

There were little lamps on the tables and a juke box in the corner, playing Elvis. The diner was decorated for Christmas, too, with tinsel strung over the cashier's counter and cardboard snowflakes hanging from the ceiling. The menu was full of diner basics,...

It turned out I was swapping out about a quarter of the music on my ...
... tolerant of snot-nosed children. Secondly, the one and only interesting thing about the bar from a kid point of view was the juke box... and this bar's juke box was definitely not spinning the hits that anyone my age really cared about. Honestly, we kids were far more interested in the bar's ancient coat room for ...
... felt almost empty. Depressed. He needed music. This is what had him out in the main area of the Shadow Gallery. He'd kept himself sequestered to his own room until then. But now, he played the juke box, not caring which songs came up. He just punched a bunch of numbers. With the music playing, he laid out the shredded sweatshirt on the coffee table and got to work. It was tough, finding whatever...
... a TV show. That was then... this is now... Aaron found himself at The Heart. He ordered a beer and a bowl of chili with extra crackers. While he ate, he listened to the music playing on the juke box and watched coules dancing. He ordered a second beer with his second bowl of chili. And he thought about Jackie. He wished he never said the things he did to her. They were mean and he said them out...
