Gaspé and Lac-St-Jean

Last Tuesday, I left Ottawa for a journey east for a week. I had a very good time. Ben had a great time. We did a bit of camping, a bit of hotelling and a bit of staying with JB. Despite a couple of rainy days in the Gaspé, things went very well, I saw a lot and got in a fair bit of exploring around. In all, I drove 3,355 kilometres (2,013 miles) in 7 days. The new Jeep performed amazingly well ...

Tent camping?

... In Tent Camping: Oregon . Suddenly I figured out what I'd like to do for a vacation -- go someplace, rent a car, and spend one night at each of several campgrounds. Or maybe if I was going to be at someplace for a few days, alternate between camping and hotelling. I don't have enough cold weather gear to go camping in Oregon in late October. But it's something to think about for the future.

... don't really know anyone in columbus well enough to crash there with them. Except for maybe one girl, but at present she's got problems of her own. So i shan't impose. As a result, i shall be hotelling it again this year, and that's not inexpensive, but at least my job provides me with larger checks instead of more frequent.
