What results have you guys gotten by using L'oreal Excellence HiColor? Or to be specific, the Light Auburn shade? my hair is currently (mostly) dark brown and i wanted to go reddish, just not full-blown red. I bought a box of Light Auburn a while back but have yet to use it.

Hello my lovely ladies and the occasional gentleman! I have naturally very dark hair and I'm thinking about trying L'OREAL HiColor. I just applied L'Oreal Excellence HiColor Deep Auburn Red and 20 volume creme developer and it didn't work! My hair is still black (I have black hair) and I only see red under bright light, wtf? Should I redye it again with 30 volume this time? I really want my hair dark red.

Can I mix hair dye together to get a brighter or different color? I want to use L'Oreal Hicolor and I went into Sally's and I didn't think the red I wanted was bright enough irl compared to the sample online.
