...a shallow level, simulationism actually seems to encourage this. Building a detailed model encourages people to try to play with the model. However this is ultimately false, since caused either by flaws in the simulation or a failure of the players to properly simulate/immerse their characters. Playing such characters is actually gamism, if a far more subtle form than simple number malnipulation.
