Folks. Last night I reached a new level of nerddom. A friend of a friend tweeted about a site that lets you make a font (or a TYPEFACE as my graphic design friend corrected me) of your own handwriting. I did that. It was pretty fun. And then... yes. Of course. I made a font for Melchior's handwriting. Well, you say. That's pretty nerdy. But is it a new level of nerddom? Yes it is. Because ...
Microsoft used Times New Roman as its default typeface from 1992 to 2007. In this time, I heard much griping about its unattractiveness. I agree, and survived this phase by becoming a Palatino Linotypist. Vista-era programs introduced Calibri as the new default. Do you like Calibri? Do you find it visuallyappealing? Is it an improvement over Times New Roman? Can you not stand it? What do you ...

Please note that I'll be unavailable to help with any unnecessarymodifications (turning a sidebar into a topbar, changing fonts, etc). ★- I have a question about the layout, where should I post my questions should I have any problems with it? At the layout post is fine, though you may also post general layout ...

...rune that looked kind of like a p with a flag on it . Over time, as many scribes wrote this out, it morphed into a y-looking thing. When the printing press came around, the first typographic fonts were designed to look identical to handwriting, so printers, too, adopted the thorn rune as an abbreviation for "th". This symbol even appears in Shakespeare's first folio. But it was never a y. It was...
I have some .ttf fonts. True type. I own them. Transfering them from PC to PC? No problem. It just works. Transferring them to my Mac? No problem. It just works... doesn't think it is good for me to be allowed to access them. At any rate, no dice. Font Book allows you to "exportfonts" but only to Mac-approved formats, well, only one - .suit. It does not .suit me. I want my files back the way they...
LaTeX supports historicalfonts . For whatever reason, my schooling did not include any LaTeX. It seems to be more of a science thing and less of a mech/aero engg thing. I find it very ironic that it might be my medievalist hobby that actually gets me to install and learn how to code in the darn thing.
.... Something like Roman capitals or one of the insular caps-lock header fonts should do just fine for titling poems and songs. Since I don'... Roman ones for now. My mother-in-law also suggests downloading appropriate fonts, printing things out, and using a light-box to ink it up. ...'s an idea, and I wouldn't object to having the right fonts handy for last-minute A&S applications, but I think I'd ...
