Cleaning Rawhide Reins

I am doing a massive tack cleaning this weekend and I have a western headstall with rawhide reins. The reins are downright icky but I have no idea on how to clean them. Any ideas on cleaning rawhide?

Hello Hipsters! A while back I bought a shower curtain that I absolutely love. However, I did not realize it's 100% Polyester and that it is Dry Clean Only.
