camera question.

i have a nikon d80 that i absolutely adore, but i need a compact camera for traveling. i still want it to take orgasmic photographs, however. does anyone have any recommendations? i'm currently looking at the Canon Powershot G10 14.7MP Digital Camera , but if you know of anything better (or cheaper!!) please let me know. i would love some suggestions. :)
