*War and Peace* and *Daniel Deronda*

I'm glad the December book has been pushed back to January. I've just finished *War and Peace*. Wow, Tolstoy really disliked Napoleon. (In common, I guess, with most of 19th century Europe). All I ... features a guy who wonders whether he is Jewish. Apparently it never occurs to him to look in his pants to see if he is circumcised, so there are 900 pages of wondering. I've read one chapter so far.
