to imitate the inimitable Jim Nabors - Surpraze, Surpraze, Surpraze!

In a quick browse of LJ this morning, I discovered that I'm on the billing for an event/reading promoting So It Begins , at Between Books in Claymont, Delaware this Sunday, Sept 27th. So It Begins is an anthology of Military Science Fiction edited by Mike McPhail. I am not in this book. However, I did mention to my spousal unit that I was thinking of going down there to visit, and she ...

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!

So yesterday morning I picked up the Fang and we had breakfast at Lucky's Diner (he loves the red and white bubble chair because it's a good place to relax and hide). We hid out there with a small boy named Giovanni who was about two years old and adorable. Archer is great at amusing small children - he made faces and funny noises and Giovanni giggled and giggled until we had to go. "Where are ...

Name: Alice Age: 19 Languages Spoken: English About Me: I'm a music student dividing her time between Wales and London (from the UK btw). My favourite place to be is on a beach or near an expanse of water, it just keeps me calm. I have a tendancy to be quite sarcastic and my sense of humour is ridiculously dry - most of the time I don't actually realise I'm being funny til someone says something....

Road trip! The Fabulous Four invade Delaware

On Saturday, March 7th, S.C. Butler ( scbutler ), Barbara Campbell, Joshua Palmatier ( jpsorrow ) and myself will be appearing at Between Books in Claymont, Delaware . I'm told that's near Wilmington, for the geographically challenged among us. We'll be there from 2PM till about 4PM, trading quips, backstabbing each other (hopefully we'll remember to use the collapsing daggers, ...

Book Release Party at Between Books

This is cross-posted from my personal LJ - some of the info. about the book is old news if you're a member of this community already, but I thought some of you would enjoy the pictures. Last night was the Palimpsest release party at Between Books where Cat read and S. J. Tucker sang and we all had an amazing time. What is Palimpsest about? I think roughhouser said it best. "It's ...

Writing on Skin

It is an amazing, engaging, sensual book that travels back and forth from here and now into a dark steampunk-esque world. Steampunk if it wore jewels, hid behind lace, went to the opera and watched brutal races at the colosseum. Steampunk if it lived for the joys of words and found itself devoured by the pages on which the words were printed. It is Palimpsest by Catherynne M. Valente, and it's...

A weekend in review.....

Was running in circles towards then end of the week. Did manage to get a load to home for friday and dropped it early on Friday night then  dashed home bobtail. Wanted to get Ol' No Name by the house so that I could pull all of the various clothing out of it. I had clothing for just about every season in there. Will be loading a bag with winter stuff when I go back at end of vacation. Saturday ...
