Handicapped in Boston

...parents to Boston for about 3 or 4 days so that I can visit my friend. My mother is handicapped (she can't walk well), but I'm sure they would love to go if they can get around fairly easily. Is Boston fairly handicapped friendly? What kind of attractions and places are best for those that have a hard time walking?
