Shuttle Rising... helped, but with only a 10 minute launch window the shuttle had to go or wait another day. Everyone else.... There was nothing for a while, and then a rising cloud of white topped with light as the shuttle rose above the trees. Shuttle launch at the Kennedy Space Center... asleep in the back of my van, we took off around 9 PM. The drive was just over an hour and it was smooth... on her mom's shoulder.
