...the rows were knitted, the fabric got tighter and it measured 19" exactly. i am good! i continued to knit it over the morning and night and morning again and now it's done and it fits perfectly :) the pattern is super simple and can be translated to knit, crochet or sewing, so i think everyone should make their own version! x-posted to my journal, 20sknitters, craftgrrl & punk_knitters :)
Hi guys. Sorry to post so soon after my previous entry , but I think I have a problem. This is the whole block. Notice how the top (bind off) is much "tighter" than the bottom and sides. Close up of the bind off. Close up of the cast on - AKA how I want the bind off to look (or as close as possible to it). I'd like to know if there is a different bind-off method that will ...
In my previous entry , I talked about a baby blanket that I am making for my aunt. I've decided that, instead of doing stripes, I'm going to do blocks (40 rows [plus the cast on and bind off rows], 30 stitches across). My question is, should I bind off at the end of a block, or should I just switch to the next color, and continue knitting the strip? I'm 15 rows into the first block now. I'll ...
...a slit from the edge to the hole, and voila, you can change your projects at will. The diameter of this one fits a 100g center-pull cake of sock-weight very comfortably. I've also heard that oatmeal containers work very well. And you can decorate the outside, if you wish! What other notions can be made with house-hold stuff? I'm curious to what you all think... I am looking to knit something for my father, who is now living on a Sioux indian reservation. If anyone has come across anything or knows of anything, I'd really appreciate it. I've googled but I'm having no luck. Also, I'd prefer free patterns as I am not financially stable right now, but I would consider a fairly inexpensive one if I had to. Thanks! ... and no time at all for the next three and as we all know, nothing can be more frustrating than finding an amazing jumper you started 6 months ago with no real idea where you got to and what should be done next (or worse: It has turned summer at this point and the poor jumper gets discarded for another 6 months). Any answers are greatly appreciated. x-posted in 20sknitters and novice_knitters
.... Because it's a scarf, it should look the same on both sides, but it doesn't. One side (the side facing me when the needle with the work on it is in my right hand)... But the other side... Does anybody know how I cn correct this? I've completed 18 rows, so I don't want to start over, but I will if I have to. Thanks for the help! X-posted to 20sknitters
... not do a long enough section of ribbing before I started the shoulders, so I knit an extension, unraveled the original cast-on, and grafted the new part of the collar. The back has darts and a bit of a peplum. The garter stitch button band has crocheted loops rather than buttonholes. I made a matching cap with the leftover yarn and one extra button. cross-posted to 20sknitters
... If none of you know, is there anywhere any of you know of I could ask about how these things are best stored? I thought of making something like my needle case (it's a roll-up type case) in addition for his pens and pencils. Would that be better? Any other ideas? Thank you so much. I'll post pics when I'm done...I'm loving how this yarn is knitting up :-D. x-posted to 20sknitters
